My 57 reg zafira automatic displays letter F on dashboard and when I try turn key there’s no click and engine won’t start

Check battery voltage or a jump start . If not that , try moving gear selector from P to N when trying to start , If still not starting needs scanned with suitable scanner that covers all modules for fault codes

I went back to try start car an hour or so after and it was idling like there was nothing wrong. I tried putting it in reverse and it was selected. So I reversed off driveway as normal and as I was selecting drive it just stayed in neutral so had to push car to side of road even though engine still idling
