My Petrol 1.6 2010 registered Zafira always fails to start on the first turn of key, but guaranteed to start every time on second turn.. any ideas please?

2010 Vauxhall Zafira 1.6
Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Year: 2010
Variant: 1.6
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Every time in the morning particularly, so from cold the car will never start with the first turn of the key, but turn the key again and it always starts. Question is why won't it start the first time? There is no engine light or fault codes stored. It's irritating to say the least, so any help or advice would be gratefully received. Thinking out loud could it be Spark plugs or Coil pack or both, I have no idea when these were last changed, the service record is only stamps in the book no description of what has been changed. The car has only completed 55k miles.

If original plugs , certainly worth changing . Coil packs usually break down under load and would cause a misfire if faulty , but sometimes an intermittent misfire and are a common failure . Try switching ignition on and then off / on again before starting . Often helps if fuel pump weak or slow in getting fuel up.

Thanks for your input I'll certainly try your suggestion, I figured the likelihood of coils failing would produce a misfire, the plugs could be original, so that's what I am thinking, so will change them too. ??
