Hello. I have an Insignia 2009, 1.8 petrol and I have a 1-2 second screeching sound and the engine sputters when starting from cold. The squeal comes from the timing gear on the intake camshaft. 4 sprockets changed in 5 months, an oil pump and VVT solenoid valve. Why does the pinion fail? On start up my Insignia has a very noisy rattle. It stops within a second or two. it's been back to the dealer many times and the last thing they changed was the cam sprockets. This seem to work for a short time put the problem is now starting again. Any idea's or has anyone had this problem. Thanks.
