Renault Clio Thermostat Problems

be for i start the car i have to blead the air out of the thermostat then from the matrix once done runs ok

the heater blows hot for about 1min then will blow cold. I suspect a blocked heater matrix unless anyone knows different? Is replacing it matrix a nightmare job?
