Volvo S40 p244a code

hi have p244a code low differential pressure in the diesel particulate filter system. This is crucial as it indicates that the DPF may not be functioning optimally. comming up on scanner i did have a small hole in the boost pipe is now fixed code still comes up at times i reset with scanner goes off for a bit any body help what can stop this happening does the car need a good run high revs to clear out the particulate filter thought i would ask for advice before i give it a good run over the moterway thanks if any1 got advice thanks
