recently had ems light come on and a severe lack of power,over the space of a few days this got worse untill the car would not go over 20mph then it finally cut out and would`nt restart,when restarting it would cut out straight away.repalced diesel particulate filter with second hand part as faulty,carried out regeneration of dpf and reset and this fixed the problem temporarily.about a day later the ems light came on again giving me dtc P2279 intake air system leak detected.have done basic checks but nothing has shown up,the car is sluggish between 1000 and 2000 rpm,once turbo kicks in everything seems fine,has anyone come across this problem?any help appreciated as completely baffled

have you checked rubber hose from turbo to air intake for cracks or leakes.

i have checked the rubber pipe from the turbo to the actuator and this seems ok,the car starts then cuts out after a few seconds,it is something on the exhaust side,as engine runs with exhaust unbolted,have already fitted a second hand dpf which cured it temporarily,

i had this problem with mine and it turned out to be the pump!it cost a small fortune

I've got the similar problem. Had engine electronics indicator on and lack of power. Diesel particle filter was blamed first, then they said something with an exhaust. Today after a short drive (12miles) the exhaust pipe underneath was red hot, which is quite scary. I took the car to a Vauxhall dealer and they said that the exhaust pipe splitted. They can do repair and do a regeneration later.

car runs perfectly fine with exhaust unbolted,i am getting s new dpf to try on it.where abouts are the swirl flaps located,are they accessible without removing the inlet manifold,how do i check these are not coked up?
