Central locking working but not locking boot

Common fault is faulty boot lock / actuator , wiring or water ingress on same but needs removing the trim for checking Have heard of some having removed battery terminal for 30 mins and reconnecting seems to reboot ( pardon the pun ) the system ,Whether it works or recommended , cant really say
