2002 Rover 25 my boot will not lock at all it did for a while but now it is not locking at all even with the central locking or the key ???

the boot will shut but it will not lock at all so even when i have locked the car the boot is still open

make sure the wirig that goes from the top of the bootlid into the body isnt broken ,you will have to pull the rubber back to do this .they break through the bootlid being lifted up and down then blow the fuse marked cdl under the bonnet

you will have to change the boot looking mechanism as it runs off a solenoid circuit and sometimes then can close shut or even stay continously open so that it wont even lock and it won't even lock with a key either
