Peugeot 307 Brake Light Switch Problems

I stopped the car, turned off the engine with the gear in D. Now it's stuck. I can't shift the gear, and can't start the car. What can I do?

Brake lights are on constantly. Bought a replacement from eurocarparts which lasted a week. Now bought a genuine one from peugeot and there still on. Need some help please
