Car started fine then cut out .There are no dash lights but battery good as starter motor still turns but will not start

When traveling for about 20 minutes, suddenly gear smacks down as if the engine revs up and won't hear higher. Looks as if its stuck in 3rd gear unless ignition is turned off and car allowed to cool.

None start got new fuel in tank and good fuel pressure and spark, will fire up if a little fuel is put into the throttle body, runs until its used it.
