Peugeot 106 fan and temp light come on as soon as i start

Car: Peugeot 106
Variant: 1.1 independance
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
This problem appeared after the fan didn't come on and it boiled up. I found bad connections on the relay/relay plug, so cleaned those up. Problem has now shifted to the temp. warning light and rad fan staying on permanently. Changed the blue sensor on the thermostat housing. No difference. Pulled the 3x plugs off of the underbonnet ecu, checked for corrosion and sprayed contact cleaner on them. Problem still persists. I'm now at a loss as to where to go next. anyone had this before?
