2004 Audi A3 cooling fan

Yesterday after coming back home from a journey, what sounded like the COOLING FAN, stayed on for about 3 hours. I went for a quick drive to see if it helped the problem but it didn`t the fan stayed on. I have disconnected my battery at the moment. Anybody have any suggestions. Ta

Hi, i would begin by checking the coolant temp sensor. this is usually caused by a short circuit in the system. it IS possible that the fan is controlled by the ECU. it could be this at fault. i would also recomend a diagnostic check and possibly an auto electrician. hope this helps!!
