2003 Mitsubishi L200 sounds like tappets, but have had them done, and noise is still there

Hard to say without hearing / checking . Depends how long and mileage since tappets were done but need to check they are getting full lubrication / oil feed .

If tappets not worn , correctly set , getting oil , they should not be noisy
