Citroen Xsara Picasso Problems

have got intermittent grater when moving in1st or 2nd gear and slight judder on steering wheel,noise goes in 3rd gear but judder still their.no noise going downhill in second gear,been told it could be gearbox or stearing rack but not sure....

motor blows when ign on but when you start car it wont blow
