Vauxhall Corsa Alternator Problems

my car cut out we jump started it and it started for 5 mins then cut out again it will not start now ,it is making no noise wen you turn the key ,i have changed the filter and fully charged the battery i dont no what else it could be

when you try to start the car the ignition makes a clicking noise . i have had it jump started which worked but then when I went to start it again today the same happened . There is also a light with a spanner on, dont know what it means.

2 days ago the I struggled to start the car and once I got it going the warning light of a car with a spanner through it came on and the car was sluggish. I stopped the car and turned the engine off and back on again and the light went off....

We have had this car 3 years and have had to replace one or other of the brake light bulbs virtually on a monthly basis. The garage has looked at everything but cannot see why this is happening.
