2001 Vauxhall Corsa yellow light, car not starting first time. and strange high pitch noise when i open door.

I just bought a corsa from a garage 3 weeks ago. I was straight away having problems starting. It usually starts after 3 attempts. Now the yellow light with spanner comes on and flashes. I took it back and they replaced battery. Worked fine for 2 days and has started happening again. Every few days the time and date reset to 0:00 and 00/00/00. There is also a high pitched noise when i open car door. Also, just today when i turned off lights and got out, the right hand side lights stayed on, even though i tunred them off. Any ideas?

If battery o.k , get alternator output tested . Get diagnostic scan and see what codes are shown .

Will i have to take it to an actual Vauxhall garage to have it tested or will any garage do it? I bought it from a normal garage, not a vauxhall garage.

Any independant garage with the correct diagnostic equipment will do it , doesn't have to be main dealer . Can you not take it back to garage that sold you the car and try and claim them as it would appear that they did not fix it correctly ?

hi.poss lambda snsor for the yellow light, door noise poss door open warning ,lights on if you turn the engine off with the indicators still working one set of sidelights will stay on , ie left indicators on,left sidelights stay on ,right indicators on,right sidelights stay on, they are a visual aid when parked at night
