my car cut out we jump started it and it started for 5 mins then cut out again it will not start now ,it is making no noise wen you turn the key ,i have changed the filter and fully charged the battery i dont no what else it could be

Lots of possible causes , could be dud battery and / or alternator / starter etc. etc. Check all earths and battery terminals / starter connections , then try jump start with a good set of leads .Some of those cheap leads don't give good connection . Could get battery tested Foc at any fast fit centre or accessory shop , also alternator. If battery dud , won't hold any charge .

i guess with you saying its the 1.7 its a diesel if so check and replace the spill of pipes between the injectors available from motor factors for about £4 could you also try to explain the noise to you say its making so i can try to help you more

Just to confirm , you say car "IS MAKING NO NOISE " when key is turned ?
