2004 Vauxhall Corsa Problems

When is it advisble to change a Cambelt on a Vauxhall Corsa 2004?

Hi there, I have a vauxhall Corsa 2004 semi-automatic, when driving after half hour or so, then pulling away from a stationary position the car judders. any ideas what this could be?

the electrical management light (not engine management) is on constantly , the mechanic told me the computer showed 2 possible problems 1. battery (since changed for new one) 2. the electrical sensor which is attached near the accelerator...
