If all as you say , must be something jamming the boot or the boot mechanism is faulty and not releasing

The boot mechanism will open manually, a new mechanism has not resolved the problem.
My thoughts are,
1 - the mew mechanism may be faulty. Need to test.
2 - Ope circuit on the the switch wires
3 - is there a faulty control module?.

You checked any wiring at top of tailgate , usually in rubber sheath for breaks / damage ?

Removed and checked rubber sheath, no broken wires.

If you are getting volts to lock mechanism and it's not operating , must be knackered switch ? Or you could scan it and see what shows
