Vauxhall Corsa
‘service rear camera system’ when in reverse.

Couple of weeks ago this message appeared but there is no camera.
Also radio channels I’d set up no longer function & channels are now American names but not playing.
Steering wheel controls no longer work on stereo.
Local garage suggests it was an over the air software update malfunction but can’t fix it.

Not sure if your year has the capability for over the air software updates . Could check any relevant fuses ,Audio etc , or try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnect which usually reboots the system

whittingehame thank you for your reply. After disconnecting the battery the. Reconnecting you were right about it rebooting somethings- the radio now has lost its American stations & returned to the original. Thank you!
However the same ‘service rear camera system’ still appears when in reverse. The right hand side steering wheel buttons still don’t control the volume or change stations.
I’ll investigate how to check fuses & let you know what happens. Thanks again

Thank you for update . Just another thought . any camera is often hooked up to reverse lights , check they are operating .

There is no camera which is why it’s so odd that this message suddenly appears every time the car is in reverse.

You may need to get a diagnostic scan carried out that covers all systems and modules , at least Tech 2/3 compatible for fault codes
