Difficulty in selecting reverse gear when the engine is running, turn off the engine no problems selecting reverse???

Thanks,I can select reverse easily when the engine is turned off

Had similar with my 2019 Vauxhall Corsa 1.4i Energy. It’s done 40000 miles so not excessive. Some days fine; other days just can’t get it in gear. One garage quoted my £800+ for new clutch but I’m dubious. Anyone found a solution?!

You can have problems with general clutch wear or the clutch plate sticking , not moving as it should on splines of first motion shaft / spigot shaft
