2007 Vauxhall Astra alternator constant replacement

Alternator replaced a year ago. Then again yesterday. Drove about 25 miles loss of power steering loads of warning lights and engine cutout. It starts and runs for about 3 miles then the same thing happens. Alternator is hot to touch..

Check alternator charging rate . Load test battery to check condition in case alternator it is trying to make up for low condition . If alternator only 1 yr old it would normally be under warranty unless a cheap , replacement / recon unit . as opposed to OEM .
