Rover 45 Throttle Body Problems

After a hard run idle speed sticks at around 1800 revs.

Intermitantly the engine keeps reving and runs on when switched off.

I had my alternator replaced last week. Since then instead of idling just under 1000rpm and steady the idling speed is lumpy and rises to about 1250 up and down. Any help appreciated.
