2008 Peugeot Partner losing power when driving

Twice I've been on a major road on a hot day, power just drops to maybe 10 HP forcing slowdown to around 30 mph in 3rd. First time on M4 I dropped into hard shoulder, limped along in 3rd at about 30 mph, after 1 minute recovered. 2nd time on A38, noticed temp up to 90 C so I chucked on the interior heaters to help cool the engine - and - it worked.

Could be many things , partially blocked cat / exhaust , fuel filter if fitted , but should be stored fault codes which should be able to retrieve with suitable scanner
