my car is over revving most of the time. The revs are going really high and then cutting the car out. it all struggles to start sometimes due to this fault.

it sounds like the stepper motor for idle control is playing up. Sometimes a good clean of the motor and clean aperture in throttle body can cure the problem. If not a new motor will be required
