2001 Peugeot 206 jumping out of 5th gear

I have Y plate 206 GTI that jumps out of 5th gear know and again than sticks. Sometimes doesn't even go into 5th but other gears are ok

Are your gear selector rods worn.

remove the end cover on gearbox and check to make sure synchro/gear is tight on shaft and that nut hasnt come loose
