Mitsubishi Pajero Problems

not able put the car in 4th or 5th gear

There is a thump and loud hum from gearbox when slowing to park or for traffic light. This happens only once or twice in a day. Only when auto box is changing to 1st gear at very slow speed. Mitsubishi agent says all ok, but have doubts....
