When the car come to a stop and intending to engage the parking stage, it does not accept.

It developed holes along the crank shaft after a few months of hissing sound after first start and while turning when at a complete stop. Afterwards it licked oil and stalled.

If the car is left idle for a day it's takes multiple cranks to get it to start

Huge palls of white, then blackish smoke on start up (which takes some time to do now). Once started the problem goes away pretty much. starts first time and every time for the rest of the day, then Groundhog Day again, if left for 2/3 hour...

horn sounds continuously when ignition on.

I intend fitting a tow bar to a 93 Pajero - is there any more to it than bolting on and connecting the electrics? Is connecting the electrics straight forward (plug in), or would I need to get a garage to do it? Thanks

Has improved with new ignition barrel and key. But no cables ties present when I dismantled , could this be the problem.
