2016 Mercedes Benz C Class malfunction issue showing 2 gears

After driving the car jerks and the warning comes on the dash Malfunction issue showing 2 gears? the only thing I can do is select ok it goes away however will not use electric while in hybrid mode? is this just a reset issue or something major? Regards

Either need a diagnostic scan to retrieve any stored fault codes carried out or contact dealership to see if it's a known fault that may be covered with a software update
