Have had car since 2023, it's automatic, parked up one day and little handbrake switch felt different as I went to engage handbrake, now no handbrake light on dash..AA came out and diagnosed broken switch/handbrake..car still under warranty, dealer doesn't know if this is covered...really? Is this normal?

If switch failed / broke under normal use . 100% warranty claim , tell dealership to get the finger out and replace switch
