Citroen DS3 car cuts out

Car runs ok, but then gets slower and slower despite peddle going to floor and eventually cuts out and refuses to start for approx 30 mins, then starts and runs ok.

If that model has a fuel filter , might start with changing that but other possible causes like partially plugged cat / exhaust , fuel pump , air filter etc.
