2010 Volkswagen Polo polo 59 plate, newish battery loses its charge very quickly, say 1 or 2 days for no apparent reason.

Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 2010
Variant: 6R
Car loses the battery charge even after regular use. Worse in the winter. Regularly serviced and maintained, in every other respect its a great car. When the battery has been charged whether by use or with a charger, it loses the charge very quickly even when left in the station car park whilst commuting by train. Returning to the car in the evening after the commute and it doesn't start is probably the most frustrating thing.

You really need to check your battery voltage after lying overnight and prior to starting or LOAD test . If any weak cells it wont retain the charge . You could also verify the alternator charging rate is o.k . Short journeys wont help either . If all else fails , you need to check for a parasitic battery drain
