2007 Volkswagen Caddy all forward gears are fine won't go into reverse

Car: Volkswagen Caddy
Year: 2007
Variant: 1.9

I have the exact same problem, I have changed the slave cyliner and master cylinder and I moved gear linkage out the way when doing slave cylinder. I then put them back and re aligned them several times but I just cant get reverse working. It goes into gear fine, reverse lights come on but just no reverse.

If reverse was working before you changed the master cyl and slave cyl for whatever reason , it would seem the shifter adjustment is out
