2006 Vauxhall Zafira won't start, dash lights flash and doors lock/unlock when key turned

Key remote unlocks door. When key turned all warning lights flash and relays click also sounds if doors lock/unlock. Once key turned bacl all this stops and I can turn on radio fine. Could this be the immobiliser or would that make it seem that car was "dead".
