Knocking noise when clutch pedal pressed

when pressing the clutch pedal to floor i get a low pitch knocking noise from engine/gearbox area,any ideas?

Engine thrust bearings ? If so , you usually see some float at crankshaft pulley .

could it be the dual mass flywheel making the noise?

Every possibility it could be the DMF , they tend to get noisy when they start to go .
