2005 Vauxhall Zafira car won't start

My mechanic replaced the alternator belt after the one that was there had shredded into pieces. I now try to start the car and it won't start at all. Without the belt it was starting and now it doesn't, please help.

Is the battery voltage okay,as it may have discharged if there was no drive to the alternator,,you could try charging it or jump start.

Fitted a new battery and all is fine now, many thanks !
