2001 Vauxhall Zafira car wont tick over

Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Year: 2001
Categories: Leaks & Noises
My car ran out of petrol, I then put a petrol in and it started ok 1st time. I switched it off just to make sure that it would start again and then it wouldn't start at all.
No ticking over nothing, I have tried to jump it and still nothing. Does anyone have any idea on what this could be.

Sounds like fuel blockage, grit blocking the fuel pipe. Or perhaps the fuel pump has stopped working.

Thanks for the reply. Would there be a fix for this to get back on the road?

i can only suggest have a trusted mechanic check it out

You may have just blown a fuse for the pump.check fuses first.did you put enough of the correct fuel in.

Guy came out and tried the ignition opened the bonnet, tried to jump battery and then said its the starter motor has burnt out? From trying it to many times? I dont think this is the case I mentioned the fuses to him and he said maybe but you would have to try all of them and then said he was going. None the wiser

If it happens again check the fuel pump relay . (you dont mention what engine in car )but this covers most .
