the car will tow off striaght away no problem but will not start off key.i have put new crank sensor on it new battery and fuel filter still wudnt start off key.so i have bypassed fuel filter housin and clamped off the return pipe and it starts off key after a few turns ov the key.any ideas

Must be drawing air when connected to filter and needing bled properly . Or leaking back .

Does sound like an air leak at the fuel filter housing or return pipe.

sounds like an injector fault. do an injector leak off test

fuel filters are quite common to leak air into the system. has the water drain off plug come loose? are the rubber sealing rings on the fuel pipes corroded?? have you had the spill off pipes changed recently? they perish quite easily and are the most common cause of air leaking into the system. you will need a manual hand priming pump to prime the fuel system again after wards.
