2000 Vauxhall Vectra problem starting

hi,poss water temp sensor,this measures the water temp which tells the ecu how much fuel to deliver, if it is faulty it may be telling the ecu that the water is hot therefor not delivering enough fuel when engine cold,do not get confused by the water temp sender which works the temp gauge on the inst assy

hi moley just took it back to the person who
fitted cam sensor he said airflow temp is showing -40 also engine temp is -40 so im taking it to auto sparks tommorow as he thinks it may have a broken wire as he changed the sensor but still the same does this make sense to you

hi,the air flow meters did give problems on this model but if i remember correctly the engine used to run rough & acceleration was affected but may still be the problem,a good auto electrician should be able to test the voltages & resistances of the units to determine what is at fault,good luck hope you sort it soon..moley56

ps,some times when the multi-plug is pushed onto the camshaft sensor the terminals do push out of the plug,to check you need to pull the sleeve back from off the plug , -40 seems very low reading for the engine temp (indicates water temp sensor fault) the airflow meter reading is usually around the temp of the atmosphere.
