Hubby put op com on before we brought it and that was fine, when he put it on at home it said crankshaft sensor we have replaced the sensor twice and it still says crank shaft sensor. the car still turns but wont start.any body got any ideas cheers Suzy

You getting fuel , can you hear the pump when ignition switched on ?

CAS sensors can be sensetive,
Stray voltages can distort their signal,
say a starter motor.
try tow starting or bump starting.
If it runs then the CAS signal is getting corrupted by the starter motor high amperage draw.
The signal wires are meant to be shielded but this doesn't always work.
Opcom on live data will read the CAS signal as RPM and show a trace signal of what the ECU'S "seeing",
check for spikes on the trace.
Finally where'd you buy the CAS,
Some cars just won't run on anything other than O/E,
Ebay stuff just wont work.
Vauxhall dealer parts are sometimes the only answer.

Yes pump is priming and hubbys checked fuel s getting through, coil pack checked and crankshaft sensor checked, air filter checked. mass air flow meter cleaned. the engine is an z18xe, it is fly by wire and hubby is concerned that butterfly on throttle is partly open and didn't move when I depressed the accelerator. Thank you for replying any more ideas greatly appreciated. cheers Suzy

Not sure what type of rotor is used for the sensor but has the bottom pulley been removed recently. The fault may not be with the sensor but the rotor being broken or positioned wrong

The ZX18E "DOES" need throttle body reset procedure,
if the body has been off or the battery is taken out.
Reset procedure IS in the menu of Opcom.
Simple procedure,
Tell hubby to check the Opcom menu.
Or Google ZX18E throttle body reset for OPcom's site.

cam belt and teeth are fine, don't know about the pulley? didn't know that the throttle body needed resetting, and we have had the battery off, Cheers will try tomorrow and let you know thanks.
