2000 Vauxhall Vectra vectra mis-fire

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.8i 16v
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I have a 2000 1.8i 16v Vectra with approx 112k on the clock, it starts up no problem, but unless the engine has warmed up, it misfires if you try to pull away, if you leave it to warm up it will run all day without problem. I'm no expert and by reading various forums have carried out the yellow wire mod, replaced the plugs, ignition pack, maf sensor and coolant temp sensor, but its still the same. The Engine Management Light doesn't come on and no fault codes are showing up when doing the paperclip test.
Any ideas please?

Thanks for your time.

Is there any oil or large amounts of soot on the sparkplug points..

Spark plugs are perfect, will check wiring connectors tomorrow. Took out for a run this afternoon without letting it warm up, done paper clip test after misfiring and showed code 1571 - brake light switch I have been told?

It could be an oxygen sensor fault

This refers to a zafira with that fault code , might help you .

Check the wiring / plug at coil-ignition pack .

Checked all connectors and found nothing out of the ordinary

Check around the oxygen sensor to make sure the weld/exhaust hasn't fractured.

Also check wiring to o2 sensor , quite often that is the fault rather than sensor .

Checked around sensor, wiring, connector etc everything looks ok. Could a faulty sensor give this problem? Would it be worth my while changing it?

yes a faulty sensor would give you running faults

Sorry guys, I forgot to mention in my original post, When starting from cold the tickover used to run slightly faster for a while than when warm and doesn't appear to be doing so now.

during acceleration, seems to want to cut out, as though lack of fuel, but if I can get the clutch depressed in time it ticks over and revs no problem whilst not pulling. This can happen only once or as many as six times, (seems to be dependant on the outside air temperature) then as the engine nears normal operating temperature there's a brief hesitation then its like turning a switch on, it runs perfect from that moment on.

Changed the O2 sensor no difference, now the exhaust has blown had enough now guys, its going to the scrapyard tomorrow, not gonna spend any more time or money it. Many thanks for your input
