2011 Vauxhall Meriva temporary loss of power/acceleration

Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2011
Variant: 1.7 cdti se auto
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I have this problem too.
Starts fine, but then looses power, no response from pedal then suddenly starts again and revs fly up, but as soon as I stop at a junction it does it again, when the engine gets warmer it suddenly stops doing it. Vauxhall dealership says its a fault on the brake switch.
???. Not sure what the connection is, but it's going in on Thursday morning, fingers crossed it works as it's very scary when it happens.

Cant see any tie in with brake switch causing that either .Would be grateful if you could update the forum on the outcome and why it was causing the problem

Had the M A F done didn't stop the problem, then the brake switch replaced.
Problem stopped, car is working fine now.

Vauxhall said that the switch was faulty so was causing the computer to malfunction so balance of fuel air was incorrect.

No idea how a brake switch can cause " balance of fuel air was incorrect." but thank you for info , I'll have something to ask my friends in the trade if they can figure this one out but as long as you have it fixed is all that matters
