Vauxhall Zafira revving without accelerating or pushing pedal down

Hi i just started the car as normal warming up for 2-3mins and then noticed the car is revving without me accelerating or pushing the pedal down. I turned the ignition off and on and it went back to normal, then 3 min later after driving down the road it started doing the same again. Noise comming from engine side but cannot find out what is causing this any help would be much appreciated, Thanks oh and i have no car mat stuck on or anything as such under the pedal!!

i suspect possible air leak at inlet plenum chamber or possible fuel ECU fault. have it code read to try to point you in the right direction

Thank you for your reply, You'll never guess what now the alternator has gone on this? Is this down to the earlier problem i was having or am i having what you'd call a bluddy bad day!! i cannot take it anywhere without fixing this first also is the altenator hard to get off on these as its a MK2 shape. Thanks PS- I also heard from someone that the earlier problem was to do with a sensor idle or something like that!

I have a vauxhall zafira 2.2 petrol Auto, the problem started with jacking then leads to the vehicle not accelerating pass 30mph i have just change the 4 Spark plug, Air filter,oil filter and engine oil.
But after all this the vehicle still will not rev pass 30mph.
But there is a funny and vibration by the inlet plenum chamber.
