2004 Vauxhall Meriva emissions warning light

You will need to get it scanned to see what fault has triggered light .Temp gauge could be a faulty sensor or check wiring / connector to same .

How do I go about getting it scanned? As I don't know much about these sort of things,,,,
The running temperature of car seems fine but the gauge doesn't move,, can you tell me where to find the sensor that operates the temperature gauge and the other thing is could the two things be linked ?

Sensor on most cars is usually on cyl . head .You need a scanning tool or , like most people who do not have one , take it into garage and get them to diagnose fault codes .If just bought , take it back to garage for fixing .

Was a private sale but will take it to the garage that did mot on car,, it was only done last Friday and the emissions printout is fine so don't understand why warning light is on

Also , in this weather if thermostat jammed open , temp gauge will read cold .Make sure coolant level is o.k .

I have a 2009 Meriva Design 1.4 petrol. The engine warning light is on constantly. There are no other driving problems and I have done a pedal test and got code p0136. Can you help and does this sound costly. I am retired.
