2009 Vauxhall Insignia automatic tailgate failed

the automatic tailgate failed. It seems that the automation, the sensors and the electronics failed at the same time. Has anyone experienced a problem with these either individually or collectively.

If it's a 2009 , is it not still under warranty ? Get it back to dealers for fixing if so .

Thank you. Yes it is under warranty and has been fixed. However, the tailgate dropped onto the back of my head causing concussion and other injuries. I wanted to know if there were any other such cases. A car is usually recalled if there are 3 incidents but this one could have broken my neck.
