2016 Vauxhall Insignia egr valve flow

Engine management light goes on and then off reporting EGR flow, can stay on for a minute or several days and only persistent in hot weather. EGR valve replaced and link pipe cleaned which solved the issue for a few weeks. could it be an air leak in the air intake?
