I get the voice over from my radio saying error loading language, previous language being downloaded but never does

I get in and turn the engine and the radio comes on for about 2 seconds then the automaton voice kicks in and repeats error loading language previous language will be downloaded for the continuing journey time
(this is my husbands car not mine !) he doesn't use computer and I don't drive
