Suggest you find where coolant leak is firstly by carrying out a pressure test on cooling system .If that doesn't show leak , a block test will confirm or not whether head / gasket is leaking .

I had a water leak issue which turned out to be the EGR cover on the front of the engine. They are made from a brittle plastic, a bit like bakelite and have a tendency to crack on older cars.
As for the power loss, check the top of the lower intercooler hose ( the side nearest to the engine near the top ). These have a tendency to split and will cause power failure particularly when the engine is under load.
