Recently, my car smells of diesel as I approach it.
This happens when the car has been standing for a few hours.
The smell continues even when driving.
I'm thinking it could need a replacement fuel filter for the fuel tank.

Even though you state no leaks the first place I'd check are the injectors seals.
The smell continuing when driving would lead me to believe it IS coming from the engine and is being blown back.
