2011 Vauxhall Insignia inconsistant misfiring.

Car: Vauxhall Insignia
Year: 2011
Variant: 1.8 petrol
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
my 1.8 insignia 2011 has started misbehaving in the past week. last major service 8 months ago. started by misfiring a bit in second gear and now sometimes in third or fourth. not everytime and more on the way down the grear (2nd -3rd) than on the way up, and not two grear changes in a row. performance does not seem to be affected otherwise. any suggestons welcome. no warning lights on the dash.

What mileage has car done ? how many miles since service 8 months ago ?

I dont specifically know if plugs where changes. i just presumed at major service. done 13000 since the service.

If plugs were changed they should have been listed in materials on invoice .If not changed when due , quite common on that car and others to have large gap and central electrode damage .If not that , coil packs are also common fault .

thanks for the repsonses. susapected (but probably didnt want to hear) coil pack could be involved. will check the invoice from the service. if not obvious they where changed will start with that as inexpensive way to start.
